Före ett lager av diagonalstreck över statyns nedhängande kappa och före följande arbeten i skulptörens ansikte - neddragandet av den sneda hårtesten i pannan och skuggningen av denna under hårfästet.
Before a mass of diagonal lines across the statue’s hanging cloak, and before the following work on the sculptor’s face - the drawing down of the oblique lock of hair on the forehead, and the shading of the latter beneath the roots of the hair.
